(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police are warning the public about a series of North Side armed robberies over the weekend in which the suspect wielded a double-barrel shotgun and injured one person.
The robberies occurred within minutes of a each other, between 4:45 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday, on North Ridge, West Howard and West Birchwood in the Rogers Park neighborhood.
Police say the suspect approached his victims with the shotgun and demanded their property. In one robbery, police said a victim was shot.
The suspect had a short black beard and was wearing a black shirt and black pants with a dark-colored double-barrel shotgun, police said.
