(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Bridgeview Police are looking for the shooters who opened fire in a Menards parking lot Sunday night, wounding two men.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to try to identify the suspects, but Chief Ricardo Mancha says the incident started as some type of argument and escalated quickly just after 8 p.m.

“The two groups of people from what we understand decided to meet here to settle some differences that they had,” he tells WBBM Newsradio.

Two men were shot -- one in the calf, the other in a finger. Chief Mancha says one of the wounded men was trying to de-escalate the situation.

“He pulled up and he was like ‘Hey, let’s calm down. Let’s talk about it,’ and then everything went awry,” he said.

Mancha said things could have been worse because the gunfire erupted near an outdoor dining patio.
