CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - One man is dead and another in critical condition after a shooting Sunday night in Little Village on Chicago's Southwest Side.

When officers arrived near 31st and Springfield at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, they found two men had been shot.


Paramedics took a 23-year-old man to the hospital with multiple wounds, where he died. Police said a 35-year-old man was in critical condition with one gunshot to his abdomen.

Police found a gun at the scene and believe the younger man was in a shootout with another person who ran off.

No one is in custody.

This is the third weekend in a row where more than 30 people were wounded in shootings in Chicago. At least seven people were killed.
