CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teen boy is hospitalized after being stabbed near the Goodman Theatre Sunday in the middle of the afternoon.
Chicago police said four men or young men approached the 15-year-old on the sidewalk near Lake and Dearborn, shortly after 4:30 p.m.. Two pulled out knives and stabbed him in the back, police said.
A bystander jumped in and helped stop the bleeding by using a t-shirt.
Marvin Johnson was in the area and spoke to CBS-2.
“That’s somebody’s loved one, on Mother’s Day. That’s unacceptable for the city,” Johnson said.
The victim was in fair condition when paramedics took him to the hospital.
No one is in custody in the case that police have classified as a robbery.
