Teen boy fatally shot in South Loop parking garage

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A teenage boy was fatally shot Monday inside a parking garage in the South Loop.

According to Chicago police, the 16-year-old boy and a driver were sitting in a car on the first floor of a 24-hour public self-park garage on Wabash Avenue and 8th Street around 2:30 a.m. when two males in black ski masks got out of a black vehicle and fired shots.

The teen was shot twice in his face. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead, CBS 2 reported.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not identified the boy.

The shooters fled east on 8th Street and have not been located, police said. Area Three detectives are investigating.
