The boy was taken into custody about noon Monday and charged with first-degree murder. Police did not release his name because he is a minor.

The arrest comes a month after police released a video of three suspects in the killing of De La Garza, who had spent the day shopping with family and had just bought a Halloween costume.

De La Garza had recently graduated from Solorio Academy and had won second place in a state wrestling tournament. De La Garza had a scholarship to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago this fall.
