CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police arrested the teenage suspect of a car crash last year that killed an infant in West Garfield Park.

Police say a 16- year-old was charged with killing 6-month-old Christian Uvidia, seriously injuring the boy's mother, and injuring his two sisters.

It happened in April 2023 near Washington and Kostner. Police said the teen was speeding in a stolen Hyundai Sonata when he ignored a traffic light and struck a white pickup truck containing the family.

Charges for the teen include three felony counts of reckless homicide with a motor vehicle, aggravated reckless driving, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
