CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teenager was shot this morning during a robbery attempt at a CTA Blue Line station.
According to Chicago Police, the 16-year-old boy was confronted at the CTA Blue Line Western Station, near the Eisenhower Expressway, shortly before 7 a.m., by a suspect who ordered him to relinquish his belongings. The boy refused, and the suspect began shooting at him.
The teen suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and was sent to Stroger Hospital, police said. He is listed in fair condition.
CBS-2 reported the incident happened near the turn-style.
The suspect did not take any of the victim’s property, police said.
No one is in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating.
