The Abrams Environmental Law Clinic at the University of Chicago represents the Center for Biological Diversity. On Thursday, the Center notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of its intent to sue the agency for denying Endangered Species Act protections to America’s populations of lake sturgeon, which it says are struggling to recover after centuries of human harm.
America’s remaining lake sturgeon mostly are found in the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River Basin.
