A new AI assistant is helping people in Schaumburg connect with village services.
The chatbot "Serena Says" appears as a chat icon in the bottom right corner of the Village’s website.
When people click on the icon they are greeted with the message "Hello, I’m Serena, the Village of Schaumburg's virtual assistant. Welcome to Serena Says! What can I help you with today? Ask me about village services or type an issue you'd like to report in the chat box below. If you need immediate emergency help, please call 911."
People can ask Serena Says questions like, "how do I pay my water bill" to receive instant answers or be directed to resources.
Serena Says responds, "You can pay your water bill in several ways..." and goes on to list all the options.
A village spokesperson says Serena Says is named after one of the beloved swans that live in the Municipal Center pond.
