(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two Thornton Township trustees won't be attending tonight's special board meeting because of ongoing tensions with Tiffany Henyard.

Thornton trustees Christopher Gonzalez and Carmen Carlisle sent out a letter stating they will not attend this week's special board meeting, meaning there once again won't be a quorum.

They say it's because the meeting was scheduled without their agreement and they hadn't received information on some of the township's lapsed insurance. Previously, the two trustees have said there is a lack of transparency about how money is being spent.

Supervisor Tiffany Henyard posted a video on social media reacting to their latest decision.

“They both have refused to attend board meetings here at Thornton Township. If you are an elected official, your job, your duty is to show up to board meetings.”

Gonzalez and Carlyle say they won't engage in the political games being played by Henyard and her team.

Henyard filed a lawsuit earlier this month to reverse an effort by the Township Democratic Party to keep her off the ballot in the spring.
