(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Illinois has selected its first round of $100,000 winners in the state’s COVID-19 vaccination lottery.
The three winners of Monday’s drawing hail from Quincy, Springfield and Chicago, the Pritzker Administration announced. The Illinois Department of Public Health will notify the lucky residents by phone or email, officials said, and will not ask for personal information.
The Illinois Lottery will follow up and guide winners through the claims process, a news release said.
Illinois is among states holding cash and scholarship lotteries for vaccinated adults and teens, respectively. Last week, the state’s first $1 million winner was selected (from Chicago), and three $150,00 scholarship winners were drawn.
