EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Delivery drivers in Evanston are on alert after three robberies in the last week.
They all happened on the same block, on Foster near Hartrey, Evanston Police say.
The first robbery was Dec. 6, at about 6:40 p.m. Police said after the driver called about a bogus address, one of three people who approached demanded the pizzas at gunpoint and then took off.
The next robbery was less than four hours later. This time the driver was waiting at a door when five people came up and the driver thought someone put a gun to his back and demanded the pizzas and his belongings.
Police said the third was just before midnight on Sunday when someone with a knife and two others took the driver's phone and demanded his access code before the driver drove away. No one was hurt and no one is in custody.
