(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Sunday will be a special day for a local TikTok star who has been very open, and humorous, about his recent cancer diagnosis.
If you've ever been scrolling through TikTok, you've likely seen one of Anthony Corrado's videos.
"We've got about 450,000 followers now," he said.
And those thousands of followers have been seeing different kinds of videos from Corrado since a recent visit to the doctor.
"I thought I had injured myself at work a couple years back and it was something that had gotten progressively worse," he said. "It turned out to not be a hernia at all."
Corrado has been far from shy about his Lymphoma diagnosis on TikTok, and said that's by design.
"I have cancer," he jokes in one of his latest TikToks. "Just wanted to rip that band-aid right off."
Corrado tries to show positivity despite his illness.

"Just to try to show people that just because you get a really scary diagnosis like this, it doesn't have to flip your whole world upside down and it can actually bring a lot of really great things into your life," he explained.
"It doesn't all have to be bad."
Corrado said the response has been overwhelming and is using his situation to remind others to get blood work done on a regular basis.
He's taking part in Sunday's Chicago Lymphoma Walk at Montrose Harbor.
