2-year-old boy struck by vehicle in Loop while attempting to cross street with man

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 2- year- old boy is in the hospital this Thanksgiving after he was struck by a vehicle in the Loop. He was last listed in stable condition.

The incident occurred on the 400 block of East Randolph at 8:18 a.m. when the boy was crossing the street with a 37-year-old man, according to police.

A vehicle failed to stop and struck the man and the toddler, who were transported to Lurie's Children's Hospital in stable condition with unknown injuries, police said.

The man refused medical treatment. No injuries were reported for the driver, who was given two citations.
