(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- For the third time this year, Illinois State Police have been involved in a Scott's Law-related crash.
It happened 5 p.m. Thursday as a trooper with his emergency lights on was performing a traffic stop in the left lane of I-55 near Lockport Road in Will County.
Police say a vehicle that was traveling northbound struck the trooper's car. The trooper, who was inside the car, was not hurt, and the 28-year-old driver was issued a citation, state police said in a news release.
Scott's Law mandates that drivers must slow down and move over when approaching an emergency vehicle.
