BATAVIA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two people were killed in a six-vehicle crash in Batavia Monday.
The six vehicles included a semi and a tanker loaded with fuel. Batavia police believe the crash was triggered by a car that was changing lanes and hit the semi. It happened early afternoon in the 13-hundred block of South Kirk Road.
Police say the car crossed into oncoming traffic after hitting the truck, flipped, and landed on its roof. The two people in that car were killed.
A woman and a young child in another car were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one from any of the other vehicles was injured.
