URBANA, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- University of Illinois Police are investigating a drugging incident that occurred at a fraternity party on Sunday morning.
A statement from campus police said a female student reported that she was attending a fraternity party when she was handed two open drinks by other party attendees.
Police did not name the fraternity.
Within a few minutes, police said she began feeling physical effects that led her to believe that a substance other than alcohol had been added to the drink. She went home with friends and then called police.
The student was transported by ambulance to a hospital for medical evaluation. The investigation is ongoing. This would be an aggravated assault, according to police.
