Union Pacific railroad worker killed in Melrose Park early Saturday

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A worker for the Union Pacific Railroad is dead, after police say his body was crushed in Melrose Park early Saturday morning.

In a statement from UP, the incident happened around 2 a.m. while the worker was putting the train away. The worker had to be extricated.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the death.
