CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - An investigation is ongoing following the discovery of a body in a wheel compartment of a United Airlines flight that landed in Hawaii Tuesday.

Flight 202 left O'Hare Christmas Eve. When the plane landed at Maui's airport, United officials said in a statement, a body was found in the wheel well of one of the main landing gears.

United said  the wheel well was only accessible from outside of the Boeing 787-10 aircraft.

Airline officials said they're working with law enforcement to determine how or when the person accessed the wheel well.
