
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - No one was hurt after a taxiing plane at O’Hare Airport clipped another plane.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the incident occurred around 9:50 a.m.
An American Airlines Boeing 737-800 was moving on a taxiway when it hit the tail of a United Boeing 787 that was taxiing on a different strip, the FAA told WBBM.
American Airlines Flight 1979 was departing for Los Angeles, while United Flight 219 was going to Honolulu, Hawaii.
United Airlines said 303 people were on board their plane, including 10 crew members. The airline said the plane is being inspected by its maintenance team and a different plane will make the flight to Hawaii.
WBBM has reached out to American Airlines for comment.
The FAA will investigate the incident.
