WASHINGTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Mayor Brandon Johnson has arrived in Washington D.C. for his expected testimony before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday, and the committee is hyping the expected confrontation in an online video.

The video casts the cities of Chicago, Boston, New York and Denver in a dramatically dire light and features Johnson and the other mayors defending their sanctuary city policies.

Johnson and his three counterparts will answer questions in what the committee makes clear is an investigation of sanctuary city policies.

“If they’re going to continue to disobey the law then I think we should cut as much of their federal funding as we can cut,” Kentucky GOP Congressman James Comer said in the video.

In another part of the three minute video, the administration’s border czar Tom Homan said if this is the game the Sanctuary Cities want to play, then, game on.

New York Mayor Eric Adams is also expected to participate.
