
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A Ford sedan was totaled early Tuesday when it collided with several cows that had wandered off from a farm, fire officials in Northwest Indiana said.
Crown Point Fire Rescue personnel responded around 3 a.m. to the area of Mississippi Parkway and U.S. 231 to the scene of the accident.
Seven cows were injured, some fatally, officials said, while the driver of the totaled Ford declined to be transported to the hospital.
The farmer who owned the cows took the surviving animals home. Rescue personnel helped remove the deceased cows from the roadway.
