Volleyball games played at a bar and restaurant in Gages Lake have been linked to an outbreak of COVID-19, and Lake County Illinois health officials worry it could spread further.

Dr. Sana Ahmed of the Lake County Health Department said Tuesday at least 14 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been linked to volleyball games played this month at Jesse Oaks Food and Drink.

It’s possible that nearly 200 people might have been exposed to the virus.

Ahmed says because the volleyball games involved players from different teams, they violated state health guidelines.

She couldn't say if Jesse Oaks will face any penalties as a result.
