(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — From now on, teenagers who want to attend Warren Township High School football games in Gurnee had better be students from either Warren Township or the opposing team.

After a post-game fight at last weekend’s game, administrators said a new rule will be implemented regarding who is allowed to attend Warren Township football games.

Police say none of the students involved in the fight — including the girl charged with pepper-spraying a police officer — were from Warren Township or Maine South High School, its opponent that night.

Warren Township Assistant Supt. Pat Keeley said student admission to the school’s home games will be limited to those who attend either school involved in a game.

Young adults might have to show their driver’s license in order to prove their age, and no backpacks will be allowed in the stadium.
