(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — You can own a piece of a landmark Chicago restaurant.
Chicago Joe's on Irving Park and Oakley shut down in October 2020. While the business closed several months into the pandemic, the building was up for sale in 2018.
On April 30 people will gather at the restaurant one last time so that auctioneers can sell off kitchen equipment, light fixtures, memorabilia and 33 years of history.
Randy Donley of Donley Auctions in Union, Illinois will be conducting the auction. He said everything is for sale, including the neon sign that was seen in movies like Wayne's World.
“It’s a great piece of Chicago history if people are collecting Chicago memorabilia,” he told WBBM Newsradio.
The in-person auction starts at 10 a.m. April 30. No online or phone bids will be accepted.
