GLENVIEW, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mosquitos are testing positive for West Nile virus in Glenview.

Insects carrying the disease have also been found in Evanston, Lincolnwood and Northfield.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites, including using insect repellent, wearing loose-fitting clothing and avoiding peak mosquito feeding times at dawn and dusk.

Most people who are infected with West Nile virus don't develop symptoms, but for those over 50 or with compromised immune systems, there is a risk for serious illness or even death.
