West Pullman man taken into custody after randomly firing gun at neighbors

CPD officers shot and wounded man Wednesday night in West Pullman after, officials say, he shot a neighbor.

At about 5:30 p.m. on the 100 block of West 126th Place, police say the 52-year-old man was seen going in and out of his house, armed with a handgun and shotgun, firing at neighbors and hitting one.

Deputy Chief Sean Loughran said when officers arrived the man had a revolver. The man was taken into custody.

Loughran said two officers fired at the man.

He said it didn't appear that there was anything that started this. The man had no disputes with neighbors.

The neighbor who was shot, a 47-year-old man, was treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
