The calendar says 20 years have passed since the White Sox won their last World Series.

But to White Sox fans, the memories of that season are still fresh. They still remember the hot start in April, the 15-game lead that nearly dwindled away in late September, and the 11-1 postseason run that culminated in the franchise’s first World Series Championship since 1917.

It’s reunion time at Rate Field this weekend as members of the 2005 team return to their old stomping grounds to reminisce about the past. It will also give fans the opportunity to take their minds off of the present state of the team.

On Friday a statue of pitcher Mark Buehrle will be unveiled on the outfield concourse. The World Series team will be honored with a pregame ceremony on Saturday. The 2005 pitching rotation of Buehrle, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia, and Jose Contreras will deliver the ceremonial first pitches on Sunday.

The relatives of the late closer Bobby Jenks will be on hand for the reunion. Jenks died last week after a battle with cancer.  He was 44.
