
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas has bought a controlling interest in the company that owns the Iowa's iconic "Field of Dreams.”
The company, Go The Distance Baseball, did not reveal the price as the deal was announced Thursday.
Thomas will be the CEO of the venture, and former Sox executive and Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Dan Evans will be chief operating officer.
The company owns the movie set used in the classic Kevin Costner film "Field of Dreams” as well as the baseball field that has been used for Major League Baseball games.
The White Sox and Yankees played at the baseball field in August.
Other parts of the property are expected to be redeveloped.
