CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police are looking into acts of vandalism at a church in Wicker Park.

There have been several incidents at the Wicker Park Lutheran Church at 1500 Hoyne Avenue.

Pastor Jason Glombicki told CBS 2 that recently someone entered the garden and ripped down a Pride flag.

"To see this person jump over the seats that we have there, and then pull down the flag, felt violating - and it also felt frustrating," he said.

It's happened before. One time, he said, a man spit on someone outside the church and angrily said the white stripe on the Pride flag represents pedophilia.

Glombicki said he knows this is not the sentiment of the community. On Sunday, after services, the church is planning to plant hundreds of mini Pride Flags in the garden.
