Woman discovered unconscious, bruised on CTA Red Line train: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are trying to determine what happened to a woman who was found unresponsive on a CTA train overnight in the South Loop.

Police said CTA employees found the woman on a Red Line train near the Roosevelt Station around 1:30 a.m.  She was found with a cut to her face and bruises and was taken by Fire Department paramedics to Stroger Hospital.

The woman was last reported in critical condition. At last report, police did not know the circumstances that led to the woman’s injuries.

Area Three detectives are investigating the circumstances, and the CTA said it is cooperating with police, including sharing any video that may have been captured by the CTA’s security camera system.
