(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A joint investigation has led to felony charges against a Bellwood woman alleged to have imported counterfeit goods into the U.S.

Roynette Cavanaugh, 54, is charged with unauthorized use of trademark.

She was in possession of more than 1,400 counterfeit items purporting to be high-end merchandise from Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci and other brands, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

Investigators say Cavanaugh was importing the fraudulent handbags, footwear, jewelry and clothing and then selling them to customers online. The street value of the items found at her home last month could have been sold for more than $2 million, authorities said.

Unauthorized use of trademark is a class 2 felony, punishable by up to 7 years in prison, though probation is a possibility. Cavanaugh has been released on her own recognizance.
