Chicago police have a person of interest in custody after a horrific attack on the CTA Blue Line train Monday night in the Loop.
Chicago police say a 26-year-old woman got into an argument with a man at about 9:30pm when he poured a liquid on her and then set her on fire.
Police say he ran away at Clark and Lake while the victim fell to the ground when she got off the train.
A passenger in a different train car described a strong burning smell when the train pulled into the station.
Firefighters treated the woman with severe burns to her head and took her to the hospital, initially in critical condition.
Detectives are looking through security camera footage to get more information about the man responsible, who they believe is about 45 years old.
