ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A woman who was with a man suspected of murdering a Romeoville couple and their two children last weekend had nothing to do with the murders, according to an attorney.

50-year-old Ermalinda Palomo was the fiancé of the murder suspect, 31-year-old Nathaniel Huey.

The two were in a car that was flagged by a license plate reading camera in Oklahoma. There was a pursuit that ended in a crash.

Police heard two pops come from the car. Both died of gunshot wounds. Palomo was shot in the head.

She had been named ”a person of interest” in the murders of Alberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei and their two sons.

Three dogs were also killed. The attorney for Palomo’s family, John-Paul Ivec, said she had nothing to do with the murders.

He said “she’s a victim, too," the Daily Herald reported.
