CROWN POINT, Ind. (WBBM Newsradio) – An 85-year-old man was arrested after his wife was shot during a domestic dispute at a home in unincorporated Crown Point, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday to the 12200 block of Burr Street following a report that an armed man may have shot his wife.
The 69-year-old woman was able to escape from the home after suffering a gunshot wound to her shoulder. She was taken to a hospital and was last reported in stable condition.
Deputies secured the area and established contact with the woman’s husband, who walked out through the home’s front door and was taken into custody. Investigators recovered a revolver inside the house.
The sheriff’s department said officers from several agencies assisted at the scene. The shooting remains under investigation.
