CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A woman on the South Side was shot and killed while sitting in her car, police said.
The incident occurred at around 9:20 a.m., at 38th and Damen, near McKinley Park.
According to police, a 41-year-old woman was inside a car when the known suspect confronted her, took out a gun and fired multiple times at her.
The victim was hit in the head and chest. Police said she was transported to Stroger Hospital but later died.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting.
No one is in custody. CPD Area 1 detectives are handling the case.
