In a letter sent out to colleagues this week, workers at the Presidential Center allege that Obama Foundation leadership has responded to employees' concerns about heavy workloads and benefit rollbacks with “vague responses”.

Union organizers say Obama Workers United will represent more than 2-hundred-50 workers at the presidential center in Chicago, at the Obama Foundation’s offices in Washington, D.C., and remote workers across the U.S..

The union's organizing committee’s letter to colleagues quotes directly from a letter by then-President Obama in 2016 where he wrote: “If I were looking for a good job that lets me build some security for my family, I’d join a union."

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Obama Foundation said wrote: “We are deeply committed to the fundamental right of workers to organize and make their voices heard."
