(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The DuPage Airport in West Chicago is hosting the Commemorative Air Force’s Airpower History Tour over the next five days, which will feature living history from World War II.

The planes include one of the rarest World War II bombers: The B-29 Superfortress, nicknamed “Fifi.”

It was named for the wife of the man who restored the plane, after it sat in the desert for years. It had been used for target practice at one time and never saw combat during the war.

Other planes include the B-25 Mitchell “Show Me,” a T-6 TExan, a PT-13 Stearman, an RC-45J Expeditor and the P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter.”

People get up close to the war birds, take tours and buy rides. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday.
