CARY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the family of a 3-year-old boy, who was hit by a school bus and killed last May in Cary.
Attorney Dennis Stefanowicz represents the family of Samuel Huddleston, who was riding his scooter at the corner of Hill and Cherry streets in Cary last May, when he was struck and killed by the bus.
Stefanowicz said the bus driver did several things wrong such as going too fast, making an improper turn and failing to stop twice after hitting the boy.
Stefanowicz also questions why surveillance video that the bus was supposed to have at the time the boy was hit is missing.
The lawsuit names the bus driver as well as the company operating the bus, Transportation Joint Agreement, a partnership between school districts 47 and 155.
WBBM reached out to the bus company, which claimed no one was available to comment on the lawsuit or the missing video.
