Zion man busted after police find $100K in cash, 12K illegal pills in his home

ZION (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police have arrested a man after finding $100,000 in cash, drugs, and a loaded gun during a Winthrop Harbor shooting investigation.

49-year-old Jeremiah Molez has been charged with fourteen counts, including felonies. Winthrop Harbor Police obtained a search warrant for a single-family home in Zion. Investigators recovered a Glock pistol with three magazines and ammunition, over $101,000 and drugs, including nearly 2,000 Oxycodone pills and more than 6,000 Xanax pills.

The search came after a shooting incident when someone fired a gun from one vehicle to another on Sheridan road near 4th street in Winthrop Harbor. One man was wounded.

Molez is now being held on a $1-million dollar bond.
