There’s a new top dog when it comes to which airports offer the most value for your travel dollar.

According to a new study by FinanceBuzz that examined the 45 most heavily-trafficked airports and their base prices for domestic travel, Florida’s Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the new king of the mountain when it comes to cheapest airfare.

The average flight out of Orlando costs just $265.58.

This marks the first time since 2018 that Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas doesn’t register as the most affordable. In fact, Sin City falls all the way to third place with an average fare of $272.15.

In between, another Florida hub takes the runner-up spot. Airfare at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) averages $271.78.

Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) make up the rest of the top five.

So if those are the cheapest, who is the most expensive?

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) claims that dubious title for a third straight year, with the average airfare coming in at $488.90.

In fact, the top two have been unwavering since 2022 with San Francisco International Airport (SFO) once again in the runner-up position at $444.59.

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) sits in third place, followed by Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) to close out the top five. All five airports have average airfare costs above $420.
