Warmer weather is ushering in the first weekend of spring, and scammers are coming out of hibernation. Kayla Palmore with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.
Spring has officially arrived, bringing with it a surge of scammers eager to slip into your home and your finances. As people start thinking about repairs, clean-ups, and home improvements after a long winter, fraudsters see an opportunity.
Scammers may reach out through text, email, phone calls, social media, or even show up at your door. They often use high-pressure tactics to rush you into deciding before you’ve had time to research.
Be cautious of anyone who contacts you out of the blue, especially door-to-door contractors offering quick fixes or demanding payment up front.
