AI deep‑fakes are helping weight‑loss scams slim down the truth and bulk up the lies.

Jordan Wright with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.

In just two months, BBB Scam Tracker received more than 170 reports tied to a product called LipoMax, promoted online.

Consumers report seeing fake videos that appear to feature Oprah Winfrey and medical doctors endorsing the product. But those endorsements aren’t real.

Consumers told BBB they spent hundreds of dollars after trusting what looked like a star’s personal backing, only to be pressured later to buy hundreds more for coaching and more product.

Be skeptical of celebrity endorsements, watch for subscription traps, and multiple charges, and always research before you buy.
