The well-known Caesars Palace Las Vegas owner has dropped a questionable event planned by a QAnon-connected group.
Caesars Entertainment had allowed The Patriot Voice to schedule a “For God & Country Patriot Double Down” event for October 22-25, 2021, at its 300,000-square foot Caesars Forum conference center about a half-mile across the street from its iconic hotel.
The ticketed event ranged from $600 to $3,000 for entry. When attempting to purchase a ticket Tuesday, the website produced an error.
Caesars Entertainment confirmed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that it had canceled the scheduled event.
“We can confirm that the Patriot Double Down will no longer be held at Caesars Entertainment properties,” spokeswoman Kate Whiteley told the newspaper in an email.
Critics questioned the promotion and support of a group that shares negative views of public health mitigation efforts amid the continued pandemic, as well as its propagation of QAnon conspiracy theories.
The Patriot Voice is the brainchild of — what the Dallas Observer has called — a “Q power couple”: John Sabal, known as “QAnon John,” and his partner Amy. The two previously hosted a three-day “Patriot Roundup” convention at the Omni Hotel in Dallas.
When pressed previously, Caesars had said events do not reflect the company’s views, adding it would enforce mask mandates and social distancing.
