The childhood home of legendary singer Aretha Franklin is up for sale.
Franklin lived at the Detroit home from age 5 to age 18 after her family moved from Memphis.
The 6-bedroom, 6,000-square-foot brick home has been abandoned for years, and is currently on the market for $379,000.
Surprisingly, a listing for the home doesn't make any mention that the Queen of Soul used to live there. However, realtor Brittany Randall did make mention of the property's historic past when the property was first listed back in January.
The listing describes the home as a "one-of-a-kind," "beautiful" Colonial located in Detroit's Historic La Salle Gardens, near West Grand Boulevard and Linwood Street on the city's west side.
"Renovations have been started, but there is still enough room to add your personal touch. Revive this 3 STORY home to it's GLORY," the listing says. "Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime home."
Built in 1916, the home features original hardwood floors, original brick fireplaces and Pewabic tile throughout. The kitchen and bathroom have been updated, and the plumbing, electrical and air conditioning is newer installed.
The property features a detached four-car gargae with a single bedroom unit upstairs. It also has an above ground pool.
The listing says the home is located minutes to all freeways, Henry Ford Hospital, the Motown Museum and the "majestic" Boston Edison District.
