NEW YORK (1001 WINS) -- Dr. Anthony Fauci chimed in on Donald Trump's COVID-19 prognosis Monday night, just hours after the president returned to the White House from Walter Reed Medical Center -- and the infectious diseases expert cautioned there's still reason for concern.

Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told Chris Cuomo on CNN, "He looks fine, as you can see the way he looked when he came of of the hospital, but the issue is that he is still early enough in the disease -- it's no secret that when you look at the clinical cross (trials) -- sometimes when you are five to eight days in, you're going to have a reversal."

He continued to explain, "A reversal meaning going in the wrong direction and getting into trouble -- it's unlikely that it will happen, but they need to have heads up for it. He knows it, the physicians know it. So they're going to keep an eye on it and they're going to try and do that within the confines of the White House, as opposed to in a hospital."

Fauci summed up, "But yes you're not out of it until you've gone several days out and doing well. But he certainly does look very well. But you don't need need me to tell you that. You saw how he came out of the helicopter and into there. He looked like he was in pretty good shape."
