Transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, whose infamous partnership with Bud Light caused widespread backlash, said it would be "epic" to eventually star in a beer commercial at the Super Bowl.

Earlier this year, Bud Light sent a special can of beer featuring Mulvaney's face as a way to celebrate a full year of her "Days of Girlhood" TikTok series, which she used to document her transition. The 26-year-old said the cans were her "most prized possession" and later posted a video drinking Bud Light in a bathtub.

The incident was met with backlash, with conservatives describing the campaign as the latest attempt to push gender propaganda. Many people boycotted not only Bud Light but all brands owned by parent company Anheuser-Busch, which sent sales plummeting. The company reported a steep drop in profits as a result, an estimated $400 million.

In an interview with The Cut, Mulvaney said she was shocked by everything that happened.

"I took a brand deal with a company that I loved and I posted a sponsored video to my page," she explained. "What transpired from that video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined... I have felt a loneliness that I wouldn't wish on anyone."

On top of that, Mulvaney said Bud Light did not support her throughout the ordeal.

"For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse, in my opinion, than not hiring a trans person at all," she said.

Now, Mulvaney says the entire experience was "a good wake-up call" that made her "a more realistic person."

"I'm always going to be a glass half-full person — whether it's beer or an Aperol spritz," she said. "Maybe it'd be epic... if in like ten years I got to do a beer commercial for a Super Bowl."
