Fire sparks at Walt Disney World, no injuries reported

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida had a fright on Saturday after a fire in the park caused by a walk-in cooler broke out, according to park officials.

According to a spokesperson from the park, who spoke with CBS News, the fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries caused by the incident.

Several videos and photos of the fire were captured and shared on social media by other park goers, showing a grey smoke plume hanging over the park.

The walk-in cooler was located behind the France Pavilion and caught fire in the backstage area. The pavilion is part of the World Showcase at the resort’s Epcot theme park.

Park officials are still uncertain what caused the fire, but one said it was quickly put out thanks to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District fire department.

The pavilion was reopened by Saturday evening.
