A holiday billboard that features an image of Santa Claus packing heat has some people putting an Oklahoma gun store on the naughty list.

The advertisement for H&H Shooting Sports in Oklahoma City displays a man dressed as Santa. That part isn't unusual.

What has heads turning is this particular St. Nick is carrying an AR-15-style firearm draped across his shoulder and he's pointing at the viewer with eyes obscured behind black sunglasses.

Residents in the neighborhood tell KFOR that the gun-toting image of someone children are told will be entering their home just doesn't sit right with them.

"It misses the mark in so many different places," Joshua Harris-Till, with Moms Demand Action, a gun violence prevention program in Oklahoma City, told KFOR. "I'm here to tell you that's a horrible advertisement because guns are not for children and Santa Claus isn't for adults."

In a statement, the director of brand communications for H&H said the advertisement wasn't meant to be offensive.

"We love Santa Claus as much as the next person, and we thought this billboard would be a fun way to share our holiday spirit with our customers," Tim Shoopman said in a statement to KFOR. "We chose an image of Santa with a firearm because that is what we sell. We know that a large number of people give guns as Christmas presents, and we want those people to know that Santa shops at H&H."

Either way, it appears the ad has worked: several people commented on H&H's Facebook page that they'll be shopping at the store specifically because of the billboard.
